What We're Doing That Day

We are joining Table of Blessings for their mobile food distribution. This is hands-on work serving families in the community directly. Our job is to show up ready, follow the host organization's lead, and bring PIK's heart to every interaction.

โš ๏ธ Important: Only 5 PIK volunteer spots are available for this event. Spots are limited โ€” sign up below to hold yours.

This is a community event. We are guests in Table of Blessings' operation. That means we follow their protocols, work where they need us, and represent Postured In Kindness with excellence the whole time. ๐Ÿ’›

Day-Of Timeline

  1. Arrive at Preston Meadow Lutheran Church, 6801 Coit Rd, Plano TX 75024. Sign your volunteer paperwork. Give yourself extra time to park. Do not be late โ€” this is a partner event and our team's reputation matters.
Tip: Look for the Table of Blessings banner or vehicles. The pantry runs in the church parking lot.
  2. Check in at the volunteer table for your name tag and, for some tasks, a safety vest.
  3. Food distribution begins.
  4. Distribution wraps up at 11:30 AM, or when supplies run out. Assist with any wrap-up the host organization requests. Thank the Table of Blessings team.

Roles & What to Expect

This is a mobile food distribution. Our volunteers will be assigned where they're needed most. Possible roles include:

๐Ÿš— Car Loading

Helping load food into cars as families drive through. This is active, physical work. Be ready to move.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Bagging & Packing

Assembling food bags or boxes for distribution. Precision and speed matter โ€” keep things moving.

๐Ÿค Community Interaction

Greeting families, directing traffic flow, answering questions. Lead with warmth and dignity. No judgment โ€” ever.

๐Ÿ“ฆ Logistics Support

Restocking, organizing supplies, keeping the distribution line flowing. Every role matters equally.

Role assignments are the host organization's call. You may not get the role you requested โ€” that's okay. Show up ready to serve wherever you're needed. That's what makes PIK excellent.

What to Wear & Bring

๐Ÿ‘• Wear

  • Comfortable, casual, you can get dirty clothes
  • Closed-toe shoes (required for safety โ€” no flip flops)
  • Layers if it's cool outside โ€” this is an outdoor event
  • If you have a PIK shirt, wear it proudly

๐ŸŽ’ Bring

  • A fully charged phone
  • Water bottle โ€” water and drinks are provided, but stay hydrated
  • Lock valuables in your car. Bags can't be stored in the church.
  • Your positive energy ๐Ÿ’›
This is an outdoor event. Dress for the weather. Check the forecast for Plano TX on November 18 and plan accordingly. Layers are smart.
