Postured In Kindness is partnering with The McQueen Foundation's "Fight Against Hunger" to serve their 11th Annual Black-Tie Thanksgiving Dinner for our homeless neighbors in Dallas. The McQueen Foundation hosts and runs the dinner; PIK brings a volunteer team, food, and supplies to serve alongside them. Dress is all black with an orange accent, PIK's color. 🧡

Our Mission: Postured In Kindness exists to restore dignity and stability to individuals and families in our community through intentional acts of kindness, nutritional support, and hands-on service. We are IN the community, finding the gaps and filling them.

At Postured In Kindness, we believe true service is more than a checklist of tasks. It is a spiritual assignment. It is a commitment to look at our unhoused neighbors, our youth, and our elders and recognize that beneath every circumstance is a human soul who wants to be seen, known, and valued.

Founded in McKinney, Texas, our organization is rooted in deep, unconditional love for people. We don't just hand out aid. We hand out dignity. Whether we are serving a hot meal on the street, curating a kindness kit, or teaching a young person how to manage a home, we operate with one guiding truth: we are here to walk in our purpose, use our God-given gifts, and love on this world exactly the way we want to be loved.

Our faith is the compass for everything we build. It teaches us that kindness is not an occasional gesture. It is a permanent posture. It is how we carry ourselves as we move through the world, keeping our hearts open and our hands ready to lift others up.

Our leadership brings 14 years of professional expertise in cleaning, 7 years of service with Need To Feed, and deep hands-on caretaking experience. We understand that a clean, organized home and a good meal are expressions of love, safety, and respect.

After years on the frontlines of community outreach, coordinating mobile feeding events, serving unhoused individuals, and stepping into the gaps for underserved neighborhoods, one thing became clear: our community needed more than a safety net. They needed to feel the warmth of a family.

LoDeana Jones

LoDeana Jones

Founder & President

LoDeana Jones is the Founder and President of Postured In Kindness. She lives this mission in real life. Driven by the belief that everyone deserves to experience compassion, and that true kindness enriches both the giver and the receiver, LoDeana has dedicated her life to her community.

She brings over 14 years of entrepreneurship as the owner of her own professional cleaning service and seven-plus years of nonprofit work. From coordinating hospitality initiatives to working directly with the unhoused community, she brings hands-on expertise, strong operational sense, and a real understanding of grassroots community needs. A self-described "sister's keeper," LoDeana's foundation was shaped growing up in a single-parent household, where she learned the value of showing up for the people you love.

In addition to her work in North Texas, LoDeana serves as Chief Community Organizer for Give Me Shelter California, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to serving people experiencing homelessness and housing instability throughout Southern California and Southern Nevada, extending her reach and her heart far beyond her own backyard.

A true survivor, LoDeana is driven by a passion to break generational curses and advocate for the dignity, mental health, and safety of the underserved, especially children. Her leadership is defined by one simple philosophy: step in wherever you see a need. She brings her gifts in cooking, caretaking, and community organizing together to build a safer, kinder community for all.

Chief Operating Officer

Garven Burton brings more than 20 years of experience in operations, technology, project leadership, and community service to Postured in Kindness. His work in hunger relief across North Texas has given him a firsthand understanding of food insecurity and the importance of serving communities with dignity, compassion, and consistency.

As Chief Operating Officer, Garven helps turn PIK's vision into action by guiding operations, community partnerships, event planning, and the development of sustainable programs that expand the organization's reach and impact. He brings a strategic yet people-centered approach to leadership, always looking for ways to strengthen partnerships, remove barriers, and better serve families and communities.

For Garven, this work is about more than providing food or resources, it is about showing up for people, building meaningful relationships, and creating lasting impact through kindness and service.

Chief Information Officer

Aaron McQueen is an accomplished industry professional with extensive experience connecting business strategy, operational execution, technology transformation, risk management, and workforce readiness. Recognized as a high-performing, solutions-oriented leader, Aaron brings people and teams together across organizational boundaries to move complex initiatives from planning through successful delivery. His work has supported large-scale technology migrations, operational modernization, equipment and resource readiness, employee onboarding, and service continuity across multiple locations and business groups.

Aaron is known for disciplined execution, sound judgment, clear communication, and a steady commitment to helping others succeed. He leads through influence, translates complex challenges into practical solutions, and approaches every responsibility with accountability, patience, and respect. As a coach, mentor, and trusted partner, he invests in people by sharing knowledge, building confidence, recognizing contributions, and helping colleagues navigate change with clarity. His record of service reflects a consistent belief that strong leadership is measured not only by results, but also by how people are supported along the way.

In board service, Aaron brings a professional perspective grounded in responsible stewardship, collaboration, and public service. He is committed to advancing Postured In Kindness’s mission of meeting people where they are, serving with dignity, and responding to community needs with compassion and practical support. He believes every person deserves to be seen, respected, and connected to meaningful opportunity and care. Aaron’s goal is to use his experience, relationships, and service-minded leadership to strengthen the organization’s reach, support sustainable community impact, and help create a culture in which kindness becomes action.

Donisha Reed

Donisha Reed

Secretary

Donisha Reed is a woman of faith, a mother, a beauty professional, and a first-generation college graduate. For over 20 years, she built her career in the hair industry through her brand, Love-N-Hair, creating a space where she could help others look and feel their best. When COVID-19 forced salons to close in 2020, Donisha discovered a deeper calling, serving at-risk youth, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those in need of compassionate care. She returned to school and earned her Bachelor's in Social Work in 2025 from Texas Woman's University in Denton, blending her professional expertise with her lived experience to create safe, empowering spaces for healing and growth. Donisha is dedicated to transforming lives and supporting vulnerable populations, particularly at-risk youth, in finding community and hope. Looking ahead, she is focused on becoming fully licensed in social work while continuing her work with young people. She envisions programs that merge her background in beauty and social work to foster confidence, life skills, and self-worth in young women. Through Postured In Kindness, she is building sustainable ways to give back, guided by a steady commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

With a strong background in sales and client relations, Shawana Perkins brings a people-centered approach to every space she enters. Her career has been built on understanding needs, building trust, and delivering meaningful experiences and skills that naturally align with her passion for service and community impact. In addition to her professional work, Shawana is an entrepreneur in the beauty industry, where she has cultivated both creativity and discipline while serving a diverse clientele.

Shawana joined Postured In Kindness because its mission resonates deeply with her core values of compassion, empowerment, and intentional service. She believes true impact begins with how we show up for others, and this organization embodies that principle through its commitment to uplifting communities and creating pathways for support and growth. Her passion for the mission stems from a genuine desire to be part of something bigger than herself, with work that not only meets immediate needs but also inspires long-term change. Shawana is proud to contribute her skills, voice, and heart to advancing kindness in action.
